In 5 patients with invasive renal pelvic cancer, we evaluated the imaging features of drip infusion pyelography (DIP), retrograde pyelography (RP), ultrasonography (USG), computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and renal angiography (RAG). The different features of high diagnostic value were as follows. DIP revealed no visualization with enlargement and reniform outline. RP revealed irregular, serrated filling defect of the pelvis with destruction of the involved calyces and infundibula. USG revealed loss of normal parenchymal architecture with amputation of the central echo complex due to echogenic mass. CT revealed widened renal parenchyma and the involved parenchymal segment, which was replaced by tumor mass with inhomogeneous density and minimal enhancement. MRI denoted renal vein thrombus. RAG revealed, besides the fine neovascularity with tumor blush, hypovascularity in the involved area. In addition to these features, we believe that in particular, RP, USG, CT and RAG are useful tools for patients with non-functioning kidney.

Optimizing the longevity of vascular access in hemodialysis patients remains a critical aspect of patient care, given the significant role of arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs) and arteriovenous grafts (AVGs) in enabling effective dialysis. Vascular access complications, such as stenosis, thrombosis, and cannulation-related damage, continue to challenge both the functionality and the sustainability of these access points. Recent advancements underscore the importance of a robust follow-up strategy, integrating clinical evaluations with diagnostic tools like color Doppler ultrasound (CDU) and emerging interventional approaches such as drug-coated balloon (DCB) angioplasty.

We report a first case of ceftazidime-resistant pediatric melioidosis involving a previously healthy seven-year-old boy who presented with right lobar pneumonia complicated with a 5-cm lung abscess. Ceftazidime was initiated on Day-6 of admission when (ceftazidime-susceptible, minimum inhibitory concentration [MIC] 1.0 mcg/mL) was isolated from blood.

Patients And Methods: Patients aged ≥18 years with a BCa diagnosis undergoing TURBT were identified in the Merative® Marketscan® Research de-identified databases between 2007 and 2021. Multivariable logistic regression adjusted by relevant perioperative confounders was used to investigate the association between diagnosis of VTE before TURBT and 90-day complication rates, new postoperative VTE events, re-hospitalization, and total hospital expenditures (2021 US dollars).

Objective: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major global health problem. In clinical practice, the Chinese patent herbal medicine Jianpi-Yishen (JPYS) formula is commonly used to treat CKD. However, the molecular mechanisms by which JPYS targets and modulates the host immune response remain unclear.

Endovascular aortic repair (EVAR) should be performed using a less invasive procedure based on the patient's clinical condition, as many patients who undergo this procedure are elderly and have poor surgical tolerance. We report our experience and results of percutaneous EVAR under local anesthesia in order to practice minimally invasive EVAR at our hospital. In August 2019, we started percutaneous EVAR using Perclose ProGlide under local anesthesia.
