Subtotal cholecystectomy is a definitive and safe operation to treat diseases of the gallbladder, whenever there are major difficulties in dissection from the liver. Described herein is successful experience with 6 patients using this technique, through the laparoscopic approach. In cases with severe inflammatory changes, gallbladder embedded in liver tissue, and liver cirrhosis, they enabled reduction of operative time and avoidance of excessive bleeding that could have caused the conversion of the laparoscopic approach to open laparotomy.

Background: Gastric stump neoplasia is defined as a neoplasia that arises in the gastric remnant after at least 5 years of interval from the first gastric resection.
Aims: The aim of this study was to analyze 51 patients who underwent total and subtotal gastrectomy and multi-visceral resections in patients with gastric stump cancer.
Methods: The hospital records of 51 patients surgically treated for gastric stump cancer between 1989 and 2019 were reviewed.
Acute cholecystitis treated with urgent cholecystectomy achieves higher rate of critical view of safety when compared to interval cholecystectomy after tube cholecystostomy.

Background: There are few reported outcomes of treatment of acute cholecystitis incorporating current guidelines for gallbladder dissection techniques and use of percutaneous tube cholecystostomy (PCT). The authors hypothesize PCT allows regression of peritoneal inflammation, but infundibular inflammation is increased at interval cholecystectomy, resulting in greater requirement for advanced dissection techniques.
Methods: Between December 2009 and July 2023, 1222 patients were admitted with acute cholecystitis and ultimately underwent cholecystectomy.
