Donor-derived cell-free DNA (dd-cfDNA) in the peripheral blood of allograft recipients has shown to early identify allograft injury. In this study, we assessed the factors that influence the amount of circulating dd-cfDNA during the first month postkidney transplant as well as its longitudinal trend. A consecutive series of 98 adult kidney transplant recipients at a single center between July 2018 and January 2020 were included in this study.

The first living donor kidney transplant in Syria was performed 44 years ago; by the end of 2022, 6265 renal transplants had been performed in Syria. Kidney, bone marrow, cornea, and stem cells are the only organs or tissues that can be transplanted in Syria. Although 3 heart transplants from deceased donors were performed in the late 1980s, cardiac transplant activities have since discontinued.

Background: Fibronectin glomerulopathy is a rare genetic nephropathy with only a few cases of post-transplant recurrence being reported previously. We highlight a case that was initially misdiagnosed and emphasize the importance of full immunofluorescence and electron microscopy evaluation in allograft biopsies.
Case Presentation: A 36-year-old male with a history of end-stage kidney disease secondary to biopsy-proven type 1 membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis (MPGN) status-post living unrelated donor kidney transplant 12 years prior, presented with increasing creatinine and proteinuria.
