Background: A subchondral stress fracture of the femoral head (SSFFH) is managed with nonoperative treatment. There is a lack of knowledge regarding whether hip arthroscopic management is effective for active patients with SSFFHs.
Purpose: To elucidate whether arthroscopic management of SSFFHs enables active patients to return to sports activity.

The ventral temporal cortex (VTC) of the human cerebrum is critically engaged in high-level vision. One intriguing aspect of this region is its functional lateralization, with neural responses to words being stronger in the left hemisphere, and neural responses to faces being stronger in the right hemisphere; such patterns can be summarized with a signed laterality index (LI), positive for leftward laterality. Converging evidence has suggested that word laterality emerges to couple efficiently with left-lateralized frontotemporal language regions, but evidence is more mixed regarding the sources of the right lateralization for face perception.

Unlabelled: Biochar has high potential for long-term atmospheric carbon storage in terrestrial environments, contributing to meeting the UK and global greenhouse gas emission reduction targets. This study investigates the greenhouse gas emissions and techno-economics associated with biochar produced from food waste anaerobic digestate using hydrothermal carbonisation followed by high-temperature post carbonisation. Owing to high moisture contents, digestates are challenging to valorise.

Introduction: Understanding athletes' performance in competitive environments helps practitioners design practice environments to improve athletes' skills. This study investigated the experiential knowledge of 30 elite coaches and athletes from track and field, gymnastics, and soccer, aimed at increasing understanding of individual, environmental, and task constraints on expert athletes' performance.
Methods: The interviews were conducted in a semi-structured manner and based on ecological dynamics.

Ageing of adult males could be accelerated by both high mating/reproductive effort and fighting for mates. Testing the relative importance of these factors is challenging, however, because males that win fights also tend to have more mates. We used a 2 x 2 experimental design to test how a prolonged (9 week) period of either winning or losing fights, and either high or low reproductive effort (manipulating by varying access to females) interact to affect male ageing and future reproduction allocation in the mosquitofish, Gambusia holbrooki.
