1. Groups of 18 birds were reared to 10 different body weight targets in a randomised block experiment to assess the effect of body weight and the degree and age of restriction on ovarian function at first egg. 2. There was no effect of age at restriction (15 to 18 compared with 19 to 22 weeks) on the number of yellow follicles. 3. The treatment with the larger body weight of two groups given the same degree of restriction (maintenance) had more follicles than the treatment which had a smaller body weight. 4. There was a positive linear relationship between the number of yellow follicles and body weight and food intake. Addition of the weight of fat or age at first egg to the model increased the residual mean squares. 5. The proportion of atresia among yellow follicles and the incidence of internal ovulation increased with body weight at first egg. 6. It was concluded that the physiological processes occurring during rearing which underlie ovarian function are reflected solely in the body weight and food intake of broiler breeders at first egg.

Menopause is a complex period in women's life, when weight gain and predisposition to obesity are frequent. Moreover, even during menopause transition, women begin to lose lean mass up to 0.5% and, therefore, an increase in the percentage of fat mass with central distribution and an increased risk of metabolic syndrome.

Bipolar disorder often begins in adolescence or early adulthood, characterized by recurrent manic episodes that can lead to neurodegenerative brain changes and functional decline. While several oral second-generation antipsychotics are Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved for mania, adherence to maintenance treatment is frequently poor due to factors such as anosognosia, cognitive dysfunction, impulsivity, side effects aversion, and substance use. Long-acting injectable (LAI) antipsychotics, approved for adults with bipolar mania or schizoaffective disorder (bipolar type), offer a potential solution for adolescents with similar conditions.

Background: Weight loss after sleeve gastrectomy (SG) demonstrates significant diversity in the long term and the implicated mechanisms behind suboptimal clinical response (SCR) or recurrent weight gain (RWG) need to be scrutinized. This study retrospectively examines weight-loss trajectories, aiming to identify critical time points to optimize follow-up strategies and guide future prospective research.
Methods: This is a single-center, retrospective study of 104 patients that underwent SG.

Hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives are a class of phenolic acid compounds, including sinapic acid, ferulic acid, and caffeic acid, which are widely found in plants. This experiment was conducted to study the effects of hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives (sinapic acid, ferulic acid, and caffeic acid) on the growth performance, muscle physical parameters, and intestinal morphology of tilapia. A total of 320 tilapia fingerlings (9.

Purpose: Obesity in mid-life is a well-established risk factor for developing renal cell carcinoma (RCC); however, patients with RCC who are obese at the time of diagnosis have more favorable survival outcomes. To get better insight into the obesity paradox and determine the extent to which weight around diagnosis is stable, we examined pre- and post-diagnosis weight changes in patients with localized RCC.
Methods: We included 334 patients with localized RCC from the prospective cohort ReLife who self-reported body weight at multiple time points ranging from 2 years before to 2 years after diagnosis.
