As the quantification of pain has emerged in biomedical engineering today, studies have been developing biomarkers associated with pain actively by measuring bio-signals such as electroencephalogram (EEG). Recently, some EEG studies of cold and hot pain have been reported. However, they used one type of stimulus condition for each trial and a relatively long stimulation time to collect EEG features.

Minimally invasive staged segmental artery coil embolization (MISACE) is an emerging technology for priming of the paraspinous collateral network prior to open or endovascular thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA) repair. Its safety and efficacy have been previously proven in various experimental settings and confirmed in numerous multicentric pilot studies for open and endovascular repair. MISACE is safe and has the potential to decisively reduce the risk of postoperative paraplegia, the most devastating complication of open and endovascular TAAA repair, still affecting up to 20% of patients.

Introduction: Familial Adult Myoclonic Epilepsy (FAME) is an autosomal dominant disease characterized by cortical tremor, myoclonus and epileptic seizures. In this article, we aimed to review the main clinical characteristics, pathophysiology and diagnostic work-up of this disease to increase awareness.
Method: PubMed and Web of Science databases were used and all types of articles available in full text and Englishwere selected.

About 80% of patients resuscitated from CA are comatose at ICU admission and nearly 50% of survivors are still unawake at 72 h. Predicting neurological outcome of these patients is important to provide correct information to patient's relatives, avoid disproportionate care in patients with irreversible hypoxic-ischemic brain injury (HIBI) and inappropriate withdrawal of care in patients with a possible favorable neurological recovery. ERC/ESICM 2021 algorithm allows a classification as "poor outcome likely" in 32%, the outcome remaining "indeterminate" in 68%.

Background: To assess in comatose patients after cardiac arrest (CA) if amplitudes of two somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEP) responses, namely, N20-baseline (N20-b) and N20-P25, are predictive of neurological outcome.
Methods: Monocentric prospective study in a tertiary cardiac center between Nov 2019 and July-2021. All patients comatose at 72 h after CA with at least one SSEP recorded were included.
