Formalin-fixed and paraplast-embedded tissue specimens of human pituitary, thyroid, and pancreas were investigated using fluorescamine fluorescence and immunohistochemical methods. Growth hormone-producing cells present in normal and neoplastic pituitary tissue exhibited fluorescamine fluorescence. The other tissues examined showed no fluorescamine binding.

An ecofriendly, effective, and selective spectrofluorimetric approach for natamycin analysis was developed using fluorescamine as a fluorogenic probe. Natamycin is the only topical ocular antifungal medication that is presently on the market for treating keratitis, conjunctivitis, and blepharitis caused by yeast and other fungi. Owing to its primary aliphatic amino group, natamycin can easily interact with fluorescamine resulting in the formation of the highly fluorescent diaryl pyrrolone derivative.

Biomacromolecular probes have been extensively employed in the detection of metal ions for their prominent biocompatibility, water solubility, high selectivity, and easy modification of fluorescent groups. In this study, a fluorescent probe FP was constructed. The probe FP exhibited high specificity recognition for Cu.

Consuming foods with excess sulfonamide residues threatens human health, underscoring the importance of their detection in food. This study presents an innovative one-pot derivatization/magnetic solid-phase extraction (OPD/MSPE) method for sulfonamides analysis. This approach integrates the derivatization and extraction steps into a single process.

In this research, fluorogenic labelling followed by applying first-order derivative spectrofluorimetry for the developed fluorophore is discussed as an alternative, sensitive and selective analytical approach. Benoxinate, containing a primary amine and fluorescamine reagent were selected for the study. Then the proposed methodology relies on the reaction between the primary amine in benoxinate with fluorescamine that selectively reacts with primary amines to develop highly fluorescent products.
