Resistant cutaneous leg ulcers have a long evolution and are not easily cured by traditional therapeutics. Normovolemic haemodilution was proposed in 1984 by Guenneguez and Ouvry, who studied a small number of patients with good results, by using a local protocol, and a manual procedure. Recent data about physiopathology of cutaneous leg ulcers seem to confirm the benefit that Normovolemic Haemodilution should bring to the treatment of this pathology. Therefore a multidisciplinary group was created to lead a multicentric study about the treatment of resistant cutaneous leg ulcers by long term Normovolemic Haemodilution.

Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is a rare inflammatory neutrophilic dermatosis that is difficult to diagnose due to non-specific clinical, laboratory, and histopathologic features. Distinguishing pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia (PEH) from squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is also histopathologically challenging. The connection between PEH and PG is not well recognized, and instances of PG mimicking SCC are rare.

Purpose: A relationship between decreased plantar cutaneous sensation and impaired balance function has been reported in patients with peripheral neuropathy and diabetes. This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the relationship between plantar sensation and postural balance, as well as the association between plantar sensation and sarcopenia-related motor function in community-dwelling older adults.
Methods: The participants included 1659 community-dwelling older adults with a mean age of 74 ± 5 years, of which 43% were male patients.

Polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) is a rare systemic necrotizing vasculitis that can lead to the formation of refractory lower limb ulcers requiring amputation. The standard treatment for severe PAN involves combination therapy with steroids and cyclophosphamide; however, some cases prove to be challenging. Recently, case reports have described the use of biological agents for PAN treatment.
