Two sisters, who are identical twins, had a simultaneous idiopathic sudden hearing loss (ISHL) while listening to loud music at a rock concert. The possibility that their hearing losses, along with the sudden hearing losses related to cordless telephone injuries, are attributable to intracochlear membrane ruptures is discussed.

Of the 30 total markers, this panel employs 18 markers to profile T cell subsets consisting of different memory subsets and T helper polarities, > 10 markers to profile B cell subsets including double-negative B cells, and a total of 8 lineage markers to identify immune lineages including monocyte and natural killer cell subsets, conventional dendritic cells, plasmacytoid dendritic cells, and basophils.

Introduction: Certain types of muscular dystrophy (MD), notably facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD), exhibit muscle fiber necrosis with regeneration and a nonspecific inflammatory process. Although rare, the coexistence of MDs and autoimmune myositis has been observed. We hypothesized that, in some circumstances, FSHD may predispose individuals to myositis through muscle damage-induced autoantigen overexpression, contributing to an autoimmune response.
