Spontaneous quadruplet pregnancies are exceptional. As compared with singleton pregnancies, quadruplets are associated with a higher incidence of preterm labor, first-trimester bleeding, toxemia, anemia, stillbirths and perinatal deaths. We report a 25-year-old, black woman with a spontaneous quadruplet pregnancy. The patient had had a previous twin pregnancy and was herself a twin. The patient's mother had a history of twin and triplet pregnancies. Following the diagnosis, the patient was hospitalized and given betamethasone weekly. At 33 weeks' gestation she had spontaneous rupture of the membranes and delivered by cesarean section. The quadruplets had good Apgar scores and were discharged 5-10 weeks later in good health.

Objectives: Multiple pregnancies involve several complications, most often prematurity, but also higher anomaly rates. Reducing fetuses generally improves pregnancy outcomes. We conducted this study to evaluate the obstetrical and neonatal results after multifetal pregnancy reduction (MFPR) in the largest tertiary hospital in Finland.

Spontaneous activity during the resting state, tracked by BOLD fMRI imaging, or shortly rsfMRI, gives rise to brain-wide dynamic patterns of interregional correlations, whose structured flexibility relates to cognitive performance. Here, we analyze resting-state dynamic functional connectivity (dFC) in a cohort of older adults, including amnesic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI, = 34) and Alzheimer's disease (AD, = 13) patients, as well as normal control (NC, = 16) and cognitively "supernormal" controls (SNC, = 10) subjects. Using complementary state-based and state-free approaches, we find that resting-state fluctuations of different functional links are not independent but are constrained by high-order correlations between triplets or quadruplets of functionally connected regions.

Objective: In this study, we aimed to evaluate the perinatal outcomes of dichorionic diamniotic (DCDA) twin pregnancies reduced by the fetal reduction (FR) procedure and cases with continuing DCDA twin pregnancies without FR.
Materials And Methods: FR performed in a university hospital in the last 10 years was evaluated. Pregnancies reduced to DCDA twin pregnancies by reduction from three or more pregnancies and pregnancies that started with DCDA twins and continued with DCDA twins were compared in terms of perinatal outcomes.

The selective termination of one or more fetuses in higher order multiple pregnancies began in the 1980s in response to the increased rate of multiples arising from assisted reproductive technology (ART). Multifetal Pregnancy Reduction (MFPR) was justified by improving outcomes for the remaining offspring and their mother, and while the evidence suggests prematurity and the morbidity associated with it are reduced, there is a cost in increased miscarriage and mortality. As perinatal care has advanced, the margins of improvement have narrowed and hence the cost/benefit ratio.
