Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore microvascular function impairment using first-pass cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) in patients with Takotsubo syndrome (TS). Moreover, we explored myocardial microcirculation in patients with TS and related this to demographic data, cardiovascular risk factors, clinical parameters, cardiac biomarkers, and cardiac function.

Methods: This retrospective study performed CMR first-pass perfusion scans in 42 consecutive patients with TS (37 females, 70.

Ischemic Area-Targeting and Self-Monitoring Nanoprobes Ameliorate Myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury by Scavenging ROS and Counteracting Cardiac Inflammation.

Precise and effective management of myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury (MIRI) is still a formidable challenge in clinical practice. Additionally, real-time monitoring of drug aggregation in the MIRI region remains an open question. Herein, a drug delivery system, hesperadin and ICG assembled in PLGA-Se-Se-PEG-IMTP (HI@PSeP-IMTP), is designed to deliver hesperadin and ICG to the MIRI region for in vivo optical imaging tracking and to ameliorate MIRI.

Stress computed tomography perfusion (CTP) delivers a comprehensive evaluation of both the anatomical and functional aspects in a single examination. It stands out as the only non-invasive technique capable of quantifying coronary stenosis and assessing its functional impact, offering a consolidated diagnostic and management approach for patients with confirmed or suspected coronary artery disease (CAD). This very practical review ('How to.

Unlabelled: Septal reduction therapy is an effective treatment for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM). Alcohol septal ablation (ASA) is indicated for HOCM patients who are ineligible for surgical myectomy, but several tips exist for the management of high-risk patients with ASA. Here, we present a case of successful ASA in a HOCM patient with multiple comorbidities, including severe obesity, drug-refractory bronchial asthma, poorly controlled diabetes, and steroid-induced immunosuppression.

Background: The pattern of myocardial injury and dysfunction development during follow-up is unclear in patients with myocarditis. This study aims to explore the developmental pattern of myocardial injury and cardiac dysfunction during the follow-up of myocarditis by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and differences in short-term follow-up CMR performance between patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-associated myocarditis (CAM) and non-COVID-19-associated myocarditis (NCAM).

Methods: Data of patients with clinically diagnosed myocarditis who underwent follow-up CMR were retrospectively collected.
