The content of serum corticosterone so as immunological and nonspecific reactivity in rats exposed to single or fractionated gamma-radiation (0.35 Gy) were studied during 1 month. It has been revealed that corticosterone level, dynamics of absolute amount of leucocytes, lymphocytes, Rc-receptor-bearing cells in blood, relative content of FcR(+)-cells in bone marrow, spleen and peripheral lymph nodes of irradiated animals depend on the scheme of irradiation. Single irradiation didn't significantly influence natural and antibody-dependent killer cells activity and basal chemiluminescence level of polymorphonuclear cells, while the fractionated irradiation in equal dose induced considerable fluctuations of these parameters. The direction and intensity of the disturbances depend on the time after irradiation.

Magnetotactic bacteria from diverse Pseudomonadota families biomineralize intracellular Ca-carbonate.

Intracellular calcium carbonate formation has long been associated with a single genus of giant Gammaproteobacteria, Achromatium. However, this biomineralization has recently received increasing attention after being observed in photosynthetic Cyanobacteriota and in two families of magnetotactic bacteria affiliated with the Alphaproteobacteria. In the latter group, bacteria form not only intracellular amorphous calcium carbonates into large inclusions that are refringent under the light microscope, but also intracellular ferrimagnetic crystals into organelles called magnetosomes.

Purpose: Lung fissure segmentation on CT images often relies on 3D convolutional neural networks (CNNs). However, 3D-CNNs are inefficient for detecting thin structures like the fissures, which make up a tiny fraction of the entire image volume. We propose to make lung fissure segmentation more efficient by using geometric deep learning (GDL) on sparse point clouds.

Liquid biopsy provides a minimally invasive approach to characterise the molecular and phenotypic characteristics of a patient's individual tumour by detecting evidence of cancerous change in readily available body fluids, usually the blood. When applied at multiple points during the disease journey, it can be used to monitor a patient's response to treatment and to personalise clinical management based on changes in disease burden and molecular findings. Traditional liquid biopsy approaches such as quantitative PCR, have tended to look at only a few biomarkers, and are aimed at early detection of disease or disease relapse using predefined markers.

Developing donor-acceptor [n]cycloparaphenylenes (D-A [n]CPPs) with multiple emissions from different emissive states remains challenging yet crucial for achieving white-light emission in single-molecule. Here, we report our explorations into acceptor engineering of quinone-based D-A [10]CPPs (Nq/Aq/Tq[10]CPPs) via a post-lateral annulation using Diels-Alder reactions of oxTh[10]CPP. X-ray analysis reveals that Nq[10]CPP displays a side by side packing via naphthoquione stacking while Aq[10]CPP adopts an intercalated conformation through anthraquinone interaction.

SPT-07A, a D-borneol, is currently being developed in China for the treatment of ischemic stroke. We aimed to create a whole-body physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model to predict the pharmacokinetics of SPT-07A in rats, dogs, and humans. The in vitro metabolism of SPT-07A was studied using hepatic, renal, and intestinal microsomes.
