A comprehensive dynamic investigation revealed a group which included 31 (9.8%) patients with a response to the introduction of a probe-electrode during transesophageal pacing. It was characterized by ST-segment elevation and development of an anginal attack. The hemostatic parameters examined suggest that there is a special group among patients who have unstable angina with increasing vasospastic activity. The introduction of a probe-electrode may be considered to be a provocative test.
