The authors report a case of left intraventricular thrombus investigated by two-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). Three longitudinal views obtained by rotation, left lateral inclination and by advancing the probe, enabled the precise evaluation of a mass situated at the apex of the left ventricle, together with ventricular morphology and kinetics. Two-dimensional TEE is electively indicated for confirmation of the diagnosis of left intraventricular apical masses, in particular in hypoechogenic patients and to guide possible surgery. The two-plane probe provides a certain number of sections which remain relatively limited but this problem is resolved with the development of multidimensional probes.

A rare autopsy case of malignant transcription factor E3 (TFE3)-rearranged perivascular epithelioid cell tumor (PEComa)-like neoplasm is presented. An 84-year-old woman manifested multiple cerebral infarctions and repetitive embolic events in the supra mesenchymal artery (SMA), and the presence of a mobile mass in the heart's left ventricle was also revealed. Tumoral lesions were also found in a pelvic space and a right pleural cavity, and a biopsy was performed from one of the disseminated tumor masses in the right pleura.

Background: Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) is essential for diagnosing cardiomyopathy, serving as the gold standard for assessing heart chamber volumes and tissue characterization. Hemodynamic forces (HDF) analysis, a novel approach using standard cine CMR images, estimates energy exchange between the left ventricular (LV) wall and blood. While prior research has focused on peak or mean longitudinal HDF values, this study aims to investigate whether unsupervised clustering of HDF curves can identify clinically significant patterns and stratify cardiovascular risk in non-ischemic LV cardiomyopathy (NILVC).

Intraventricular vector flow mapping (VFM) is an increasingly adopted echocardiographic technique that derives time-resolved two-dimensional flow maps in the left ventricle (LV) from color-Doppler sequences. Current VFM models rely on kinematic constraints arising from planar flow incompressibility. BACKGROUND Choroid plexus tumors (CPTs) are rare brain tumors that originate from the choroid plexus epithelium and range from low-grade papillomas to overtly malignant carcinomas, and can occur in newborns. According to the World Health Organization's histological classification, atypical choroid plexus papilloma (aCPP) is an intermediate-grade (Grade II) lesion characterized by an increased mitotic rate. It is difficult to distinguish CPTs on imaging during the early stages.
