This work studies the follow-up of vitality using parameters related to the arterial wall. This study is based on the application of several mathematical models and different calculation procedures. Humoral parameters together with measurements of the daily insulin secretion (own methodology based on the C-peptide elimination) were applied for the calculations using the exclusively healthy population. In the case of the non-selected population the percentage of disease prevalences due to vascular affections were applied for calculations.

Objectives: The main objectives were to investigate the prevalence of ED and associated risk factors among medical students in Romania, as well as to determine which variables may predict ED and to explore the differences between medical students and the general population.

Methods: The Eating Disorders Inventory questionnaire (EDI-3) was applied. Also, the body mass index of the students was calculated, socio-demographic information regarding personal and family medical history was collected (mental and chronic diseases, self-reported sleep difficulties in the past 6 months, family history of obesity) and potentially risky events (history of ridicule, major negative events, social pressure to be thin from family, friends, media).

Reverse Fragility Index in Plastic Surgery Randomized Controlled Trials.

Plast Reconstr Surg Glob Open

January 2025

Section of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery, University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, MI.

Background: The reverse fragility index (RFI) is a measure used to evaluate the neutrality of statistically nonsignificant findings in randomized controlled trials (RCTs). The RFI represents the minimum number of events needed to reverse a statistically nonsignificant result into a significant one. This study applied the RFI to examine the robustness of statistically nonsignificant RCTs in plastic surgery.

Circumventing the Metastable States within DFT+ through Random Orbital-Dependent Local Perturbation.

J Chem Theory Comput

January 2025

Institute of Materials, China Academy of Engineering Physics, Mianyang, Sichuan 621907, China.

Hubbard-corrected density-functional theory (DFT+) is widely employed to predict the physical properties of correlated materials; however, reliable predictions can be hindered by the presence of metastable solutions in the DFT+ calculations. This issue stems from the orbital physics inherent in DFT+. To address this, we propose a method to circumvent metastable states by applying a random orbital-dependent local perturbation to the localized orbitals.

Background: Programmatic interventions to increase the detection of children with tuberculosis (TB) are rarely evaluated to understand age- and sex-specific completion rates. We applied modified TB screening and treatment cascade frameworks to assess indicators of effective implementation by age and sex of a TB screening program for children (zero to 14 years) in Bangladesh.

Methods: We implemented an intensified screening program for paediatric TB detection in 119 health care facilities (2018-21).

In this work, using first-principles calculations, we predict a promising class of two-dimensional ferromagnetic semiconductors, namely Janus PrXY (X ≠ Y = Cl, Br, I) monolayers. Through first-principles calculations, we found that PrXY monolayers have excellent dynamic and thermal stability, and their band structures, influenced by magnetic exchange and spin-orbital coupling, exhibit significant valley polarization. Between and - valleys, the Berry curvature values are opposite to each other, resulting in the anomalous valley Hall effect.
