To ensure scientific reproducibility of metabolomics data, alternative statistical methods are needed. A paradigm shift away from the -value toward an embracement of uncertainty and interval estimation of a metabolite's true effect size may lead to improved study design and greater reproducibility. Multilevel Bayesian models are one approach that offer the added opportunity of incorporating imputed value uncertainty when missing data are present.

Delivery of safe, effective and reliable cellular therapies, whether based on mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) or induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), demand standardization of cell culture protocols. There is a need to develop automation platform that enables the users to generate culture expanded human cell populations that improves the quality and reduces batch-to-batch variation with respect to biological potential. Cell X™ robot was designed to address these current challenges in the cell fabrication industry.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the anatomic distribution and associated mortality of combat-related vascular injuries comparing them to a contemporary civilian standard.
Design: The Joint Trauma Theater Registry (JTTR) was queried to identify patients with major compressible arterial injury (CAI) and noncompressible arterial injury (NCAI) sites, and their outcomes, among casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan from 2003 to 2006. The National Trauma Data Bank (NTDB) was then queried over the same time frame to identify civilian trauma patients with similar arterial injuries.

Administration of vaccines is a continuing challenge. In childhood immunizations, many of the goals for national coverage rates by 2000 were achieved and the goal of annual influenza immunization for adults 65 years of age and older was reached. These successes in childhood immunization rates have led to record low numbers of cases of many vaccine-preventable diseases, such as measles and Haemophilus influenzae, type b invasive disease.
