Vegetation productivity and ecosystem carbon sink capacity are significantly influenced by seasonal weather patterns. The time lags between changes in these patterns and ecosystem (including vegetation) responses is a critical aspect in vegetation-climate and ecosystem-climate interactions. These lags can vary considerably due to the spatial heterogeneity of vegetation and ecosystems.

Cassava is an important staple food that contributes to the food security of small-scale Mozambican farmers. In southern Mozambique, cassava roots are usually processed into cassava roasted flour, locally known as "rale". The handling and processing practices connected to "rale" production may introduce microbial contamination.

Ecological integrity, encompassing physical, chemical, and biological aspects, is crucial for sustaining ecosystem service functions and stability. As the largest freshwater lake in China, the ecological integrity of Poyang Lake has attracted much attention due to the over-exploitation of its water resources in recent years. In this study, several biological and water quality surveys on water ecological conditions were carried out at 11 sampling points of Poyang Lake from 1998 to 2022, and the ecological health of Poyang Lake was evaluated by use of the O/E (Observation/Expectation) model and the chemical-biological index method according to the status of the water quality and the structure of the benthic fauna in the four seasons, respectively.

The AEP 2025 Vaccination and Immunization Schedule recommended for children, adolescents and pregnant women residing in Spain features the following novelties: Due to the increase in measles cases and outbreaks in recent years, we recommend advancing the second dose of measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine to 2 years of age. As a consequence of the above, since many autonomous communities (ACs) use the quadrivalent vaccine for the second dose of MMR and varicella vaccines, we recommend, for all ACs, advancing the second dose of varicella vaccine to 2 years of age. Due to the very significant increase in cases of pertussis since late 2023 and especially in 2024, we recommend advancing the dose of Tdap given in adolescence to 10-12 years of age.

Birds have evolved seasonal adaptations in multiple aspects of the innate and adaptive immune systems. Seasonal immunological adaptations are crucial for survival in harsh environmental conditions and in response to increased prevalence of acute and chronic diseases. Similar to other vertebrates, birds exhibit remarkable plasticity in cytokine production, chemotaxis, phagocytosis and inflammation across the year.
