Clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP) is an aging process associated with the prognosis in heart failure (HF), regardless of etiology. This study investigated the association between CHIP and myocardial tissue characteristics in patients with non-ischemic HF. We enrolled 95 patients diagnosed with non-ischemic HF with a left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of ≤40 % who underwent cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) within 3 months of diagnosis.

Background: Aging entails a progressive decline in physiological functions, elevating the risk of age-related diseases like heart failure or aortic stenosis. Stem cell therapies, especially those that use paracrine signaling, can potentially mitigate the adverse effects of aging.
Objectives: The objective is to explore the potential of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) derived from young adipose-derived stem cells (ADSC-sEVs) in reversing structural, molecular, and functional changes associated with aging in the heart.

Erectile dysfunction in men may result as a side effect of the use of serotonin reuptake inhibitors such as paroxetine. Enzymes like phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE-5) and arginase are promising therapeutic targets for managing erectile dysfunction while creatinine kinase-myocardial band (CK-MB) serves as a marker for coronary artery disease. To manage these conditions, it is necessary to seek options in medicinal herbs.

Adrenergic signaling is critical for maintaining cardiac function and works by regulating heart rate, contractility, and stress responses. Protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5), a key enzyme involved in gene expression, signal transduction, and RNA processing, has been revealed to be an important factor in heart disease. However, its specific effects on adrenergic signaling have not been fully elucidated.

Uremic cardiomyopathy, characterized by diastolic dysfunction, left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), and fibrosis, is a common cardiovascular complication of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Men are at a higher risk for cardiovascular and renal diseases, compared to age-matched, pre-menopausal women. We aimed to investigate the influence of sex on the severity of uremic cardiomyopathy through the characterization of functional and molecular indices of myocardial remodeling in a rat model.
