Microfluidic impedance cytometry (MIC) is a label-free technique that characterizes individual flowing particles/cells based on their interaction with a multifrequency electric field. The technique has been successfully applied in different scenarios including life-science research, diagnostics, and environmental monitoring. The aim of this review is to illustrate the fascinating opportunities enabled by the integration of MIC with other microfluidic tools.

Background: This video article describes the use of bone-anchored prostheses for patients with transtibial amputations, most often resulting from trauma, infection, or dysvascular disease. Large studies have shown that about half of all patients with a socket-suspended artificial limb experience limited mobility and limited prosthesis use because of socket-related problems. These problems occur at the socket-residual limb interface as a result of a painful and unstable connection, leading to an asymmetrical gait and subsequent pelvic and back pain.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic in Malawi exacerbated, existing public health challenges including access to HIV treatment and care services. "Life Mapping," a component of the Citizen Science community-led project in Malawi, documented the lived experiences and perspectives of people living with HIV in the context of COVID-19.
Methods: Citizen Science Life Maps is a three-year qualitative, longitudinal project utilizing collaborative and participatory research methods through digital storytelling to document peoples' daily lives.

Background: Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) is an evidence-based practice that can identify adolescents who use alcohol and other drugs and support proper referral to treatment. Despite an American College of Surgeons mandate to deliver SBIRT in pediatric trauma care, trauma centers throughout the United States have faced numerous patient, provider, and organizational level barriers to SBIRT implementation. The Implementing Alcohol Misuse Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment Study (IAMSBIRT) aimed to implement SBIRT across 10 pediatric trauma centers using the Science-to-Service Laboratory (SSL), an empirically supported implementation strategy.

Background: The Immunoglobulin Heavy Chain (IGH) genomic region is responsible for the production of circulating antibodies and warrants careful investigation for its association with COVID-19 characteristics. Multiple allelic variants within and across different IGH gene segments form a limited set of haplotypes. Previous studies have shown associations between some of these haplotypes and clinical outcomes of COVID-19.
