The studies were carried out in an experimental pig farm on 402 animals with Thuridan (spore of delta-endotoxin complex of Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki). It was applied orally, as feed additive in a concentration of 0.1 and 0.5% for three current days. The efficacy of Thuridan was established with the use of fly-catchers which were hung in the same places--once before and three times after Thuridan had been used. After 3 application of Thuridan the number of flies decreased by 88%.

Climate change poses significant challenges to livestock production worldwide. Wherein, it affects communities in developing nations primarily dependent on agriculture and animal husbandry. Its direct and indirect deleterious effects on agriculture and animal husbandry includes aberrant changes in weather patterns resulting in disturbed homeorhetic mechanism of livestock vis a vis indirectly affecting nutrient composition of feed and fodder.

Existing genetic classification systems for porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus type 2 (PRRSV-2), such as restriction fragment length polymorphisms and sub-lineages, are unreliable indicators of close genetic relatedness or lack sufficient resolution for epidemiological monitoring routinely conducted by veterinarians. Here, we outline a fine-scale classification system for PRRSV-2 genetic variants in the United States. Based on >25,000 U.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) data from agroecosystems in low- and middle-income countries is limited. We surveyed chicken (n = 52) and pig (n = 47) farms in Kenya to understand AMR in animal-environment pathways. Using LC-MS/MS, we validated the methods for analyzing eight common antibiotics and quantified the associated risks.
