Banti's syndrome is a chronic congestive enlargement of the spleen leading to the destruction of blood cells resulting in pancytopenia. It is also associated with cirrhosis and ascites along with symptoms of pancytopenia such as infection, bruising, weakness, and fatigue. COVID causing Banti's syndrome has not been reported in literature yet. Banti's syndrome is a rare disorder characterized by splenomegaly, ascites, and portal hypertension without coexisting cirrhosis of the liver. Here we report a case of a 32-year-old man who presented with hematemesis, and further workup revealed that the patient had bleeding varices, ascites, and splenomegaly, thus completing the picture of Banti's syndrome.

Objective: Recent studies indicate that the prevalence and 12-month incidence of mental disorders during pregnancy are similar to those of age-matched nonpregnant women. The aim of this study is to assess the prevalence, sociodemographic correlates, and functional impairment associated with Axis I disorders in women at the third month of pregnancy.

Method: 1066 women presenting at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Pisana (Pisa, Italy) for the first ultrasound examination between the 12th and the 15th gestational weeks were recruited for participation in the Program "Perinatal Depression-Research and Screening Unit (PND-ReScU)" and were administered the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Axis I Disorders and the Work and Social Adjustment Scale.

We present a case of dense portal vein calcification with secondary extrahepatic biliary stricture and cholangitis in an adult patient diagnosed with idiopathic portal hypertension at age three. Biliary ductal dilation proximal to echogenic shadowing foci near the porta hepatis mimicked choledocholithiasis on sonographic examination. Portal vein calcification and biliary stricture from portal venopathy each represent rare findings.
