Metal sulfides (MSs) can efficiently entrap thiophilic components, such as elemental mercury (Hg), and realize environmental remediation. However, there is still a critical problem challenging the extensive application of MSs in related areas, i.e.

Lithium-sulfur batteries stand out as the next-generation batteries because of their high energy density and low cost. However, the shuttle effect of lithium polysulfides (LiPSs), growth of lithium dendrites, and overuse of lithium resources still hinder their further application. To address these problems, we constructed a porous network structure in which Sn is melted and coated on a frame that has a carbon nanotube (CNT) core and a nitrogen-doped carbon (NC) coating as cross-linking shell (CNT@NC@Sn).

Anatase Nanocrystals Covalently Functionalized with EDTA-diol: Interaction with Aromatic Sulfur.

Langmuir

September 2021

Materials Chemistry Group, Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007 India.

The current study addresses the generation of surface-modified nanograined anatase (5 nm) by a single-step in situ process. The EDTA-diol (ester) functionality existing on the surface of anatase nanoparticles was proved with the help of a battery of physicochemical techniques, including FTIR, XPS, and NMR spectral measurements. The sample showed excellent dispersity in ethanol.

In addition to their known implication in allergy studies, IgE antibodies are becoming an increasingly interesting antibody class in cancer research. However, large-scale purification of IgE antibodies still poses substantial challenges, as they cannot be purified using techniques commonly used for other immunoglobulins such as protein A or protein G chromatography. Here, we have developed and optimised a gentle and simple IgE purification method based on thiophilic interaction chromatography (TIC).

Over one million tons of CS are produced annually, and emissions of this volatile and toxic liquid, known to generate acid rain, remain poorly controlled. As such, materials capable of reversibly capturing this commodity chemical in an energy-efficient manner are of interest. Recently, we detailed diamine-appended metal-organic frameworks capable of selectively capturing CO through a cooperative insertion mechanism that promotes efficient adsorption-desorption cycling.
