We report a case of a 32-year-old man admitted for massive rectal bleeding related to a solitary diverticulum of the right colon. A superior mesenteric angiogram performed in emergency indicated the site of bleeding, but the correct diagnosis was only established at the histologic examination of the right colon that was surgically resected.

Gastrointestinal bleeding remains a frequent reason for emergency consultations, with a mortality rate that is still worrying despite advances in treatment. The most common cause is gastro-duodenal ulcers, mainly linked to Helicobacter pylori. Unusual causes such as gastroduodenal diverticular haemorrhage, a rare and serious complication, can also be detected during endoscopy.

This report describes a unique case of a 24-year-old man who sustained a high-velocity blunt abdominal injury from a motorcycle handlebar during a road traffic accident. The clinical presentation, diagnostic challenges, surgical intervention, and postoperative recovery are discussed to emphasize the importance of the early recognition and management of TAWH in trauma patients.

We present the successful management of a patient presenting with pneumo-peritoneum early after surgery due to transvere colon injury after placement of the temporary pacing wires. The patient was asymptomatic, underwent computed tomography, the temporary pacing wires were removed and he was managed conservatively.

Diverticulitis is a relatively common condition in gastroenterology. It is most often presented by inflammation of one or more diverticula, depending on their presence in the colon, and by abdominal pain and bleeding. Bleeding from the diverticulum has a wide range of clinical manifestations, which in a certain percentage of cases can have a very unfavorable course and prognosis.
