Promoting angiogenesis, alleviating oxidative stress injury and inflammation response are crucial for bone healing. Herein, the deferoxamine (DFO)-loaded gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) hydrogel coating (GelMA-DFO) was constructed on the 3D-printed poly(Glycolide-Co-Caprolactone)-hydroxyapatite (PGCL-HAP) scaffold. After the hydrogel coating was established, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and water contact angle measurement were employed to evaluate the characteristic and the biological properties were assessed.

Background/aim: This study aimed to investigate the safety and efficacy of deferoxamine (DFO) pretreated feline adipose tissue derived mesenchymal stem cells (fATMSCs) for the treatment of inflammatory disorders.

Materials And Methods: fATMSCs were isolated from feline adipose tissue and characterized using flow cytometry for surface marker expression and differentiation assays for adipogenic, osteogenic, and chondrogenic lineages. Different concentrations of DFO were used to evaluate its impact on fATMSC activity.

infection poses a significant public health challenge in the developing world. However, lack of a widely available mouse model that replicates human shigellosis creates a major bottleneck to better understanding of disease pathogenesis and development of newer drugs and vaccines. BALB/c mice pre-treated with streptomycin and iron (FeCl) plus desferrioxamine intraperitoneally followed by oral infection with virulent resulted in diarrhea, loss of body weight, bacterial colonization and progressive colitis characterized by disruption of epithelial lining, loss of crypt architecture with goblet cell depletion, increased polymorphonuclear infiltration into the mucosa, submucosal swelling (edema), and raised proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines in the large intestine.

[Zr]Zr is a radionuclide of increasing clinical relevance for PET (positron emission tomography). However, an ideal chelator for stable Zr-chelation remains to be discovered. This study describes the solid-phase synthesis of octadentate Zr-chelators based on an isopeptidic (ip) scaffold derived from the natural siderophore desferrioxamine (DFOB).

Paracrine factors secreted by mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSCs) have been demonstrated to have significant therapeutic potential. The secretome profiles of MSCs variate depending on culture conditions. Generally, the effects of a single preconditioning strategy on secretome profiles of MSCs were investigated.
