The paper presents the data on surgical management of 61 patients with external genital paraffinomas induced by subcutaneous administration of liquid vaseline into the penis. In most patients the disease was complicated by formation of fistulas, ulcers and necrosis of the skin. During surgical therapy, 43 patients were given CO2 laser, 18 received conventional surgical methods. CO2 laser was shown to substantially increase the efficiency of surgical therapy: the duration of preoperative preparation was reduced, the wound healed by first intention, a marked cosmetic and functional effect was achieved, hospital stay and temporary disability days were decreased.
