Background: Optic nerve schwannomas are an extremely rare pathology in neurosurgery. Their origin is rather debatable given the structure of the optic nerve, which does not typically have Schwann cells therein. However, a number of clinical cases of optic nerve tumors classified as schwannomas have been described in the literature.

Introduction: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) has been linked to pancreatic diseases, but evidence from population-based studies with liver histology is lacking.

Aims And Methods: In this population-based cohort including all Swedish adults (n = 8563) with biopsy-proven MASLD, we aimed to investigate incidences of pancreatic diseases compared with matched reference individuals from the general population (n = 38,858) and full siblings (n = 6696). Using Cox proportional hazard models, we calculated multivariable adjusted hazard ratios (aHRs) and confidence intervals (CIs).

Objective: The definition of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG)-associated myocardial infarction (MI) is controversial because the postoperative increases in cardiac enzyme activities are multifactorial in origin.

Methods: We performed a retrospective case-control study of patients who experienced perioperative MI (cardiac enzyme release, electrocardiographic changes, dysfunction on echocardiography) and those without ischemia to identify risk factors and enzyme activity thresholds.

Results: The estimated incidence of CABG-associated MI was 2.
