Bone remodeling is a continuous cyclic process that maintains and regulates bone structure and strength. The disturbance of bone remodeling leads to a series of bone metabolic diseases. Recent studies have shown that citrate, an intermediate metabolite of the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, plays an important role in bone remodeling.

In this research, the preparation of copper cobaltite (CuCoO) nanorods and its potential application in photoelectrochemical sensing platform towards ultrasensitive detection of furazolidone are reported. X-ray diffraction, Raman spectra, scanning electron microscopy, and UV-visible spectroscopy have been performed to confirm the formation, morphology, phase composition, and optical properties of CuCoO synthesized by a microwave-assisted hydrothermal method. The electrochemical characteristic parameters were calculated electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry, and chronoamperometry techniques in the absence and presence of laser light irradiation.

WOAH Reference Laboratory for CWD, Foreign Animal Disease Division, Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency, Gimcheon, South Korea.

Chronic wasting disease (CWD) is a highly contagious prion disease occurring in free-ranging and farmed cervids. CWD continues to spread uncontrolled across North America, and cases continue to be detected almost every year in the Republic of Korea. CWD-infected animals contaminate the soil by releasing infectious prions through their excreta, and shed prions accumulate and remain infectious in the soil for years.

Electrochemical Denitrative Cyclization Driven by Alternating Polarity.

Org Lett

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Molecule Synthesis and Function Discovery (Fujian Province University), College of Chemistry, Fuzhou University, Fuzhou 350108, China.

Alternating current electrolysis has emerged as a promising technique for addressing challenging redox reactions that are otherwise difficult or impossible for direct current electrolysis. Under mild and transition-metal-free reaction conditions, a general electrochemical denitrative cyclization of nitroarenes was developed to access various cyclic sulfone-containing derivatives of biological significance. The key to success lies in the facile manipulation of multiple redox events upon rapid alternating polarity switching to enhance the selectivity and efficiency.
