To determine the diagnostic performance of dual-energy CT (DECT) virtual noncalcium (VNCa) technique in the detection of bone marrow lesions (BMLs) in knee osteoarthritis, and further analyze the correlation between the severity of BMLs on VNCa image and the degree of knee pain. 23 consecutive patients with clinically diagnosed knee osteoarthritis were underwent DECT and 3.0T MRI between August 2017 and November 2018.

Diabetic neuropathic pain (DNP) is a common complication of diabetes mellitus (DM) and is characterized by spontaneous pain and neuroinflammation. The Sigma-1 receptor (Sig-1R) has been proposed as a target for analgesic development. It is an important receptor with anti-inflammatory properties and has been found to regulate DNP.

Persistent post-surgical pain (PPSP) occurs in a proportion of patients following surgical interventions. Research suggests that specific microbiome components are important for brain development and function, with recent studies demonstrating that chronic pain results in changes to the microbiome. Consumption of a high fat, high sugar (HFHS) diet can drastically alter composition of the microbiome and is a modifiable risk factor for many neuroinflammatory conditions.

Objectives: In this study, artificial intelligence techniques were used to achieve automated diagnosis and classification of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) degenerative joint disease (DJD) on cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images.
Methods: An AI model utilizing the YOLOv10 algorithm was trained, validated and tested on 7357 annotated and corrected oblique sagittal TMJ images (3010 images of normal condyles and 4347 images of condyles with DJD) from 1018 patients who visited Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology for temporomandibular disorders and underwent TMJ CBCT examinations. This model could identify DJD as well as the radiographic signs of DJD, namely, erosion, osteophytes, sclerosis and subchondral cysts.

The genetic basis of complex traits involves the function of many genes with small effects as well as complex gene-gene and gene-environment interactions. As one of the major players in complex diseases, the role of gene-environment interactions has been increasingly recognized. Motivated by epidemiology studies to evaluate the joint effect of environmental mixtures, we developed a functional varying-index coefficient model (FVICM) to assess the combined effect of environmental mixtures and their interactions with genes, under a longitudinal design with quantitative traits.
