Temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis (TMJ-OA) is a common disease often accompanied by pain, seriously affecting physical and mental health of patients. Abnormal innervation at the osteochondral junction has been considered as a predominant origin of arthralgia, while the specific mechanism mediating pain remains unclear. To investigate the underlying mechanism of TMJ-OA pain, an abnormal joint loading model was used to induce TMJ-OA pain.

Parkinson's disease (PD), characterized by progressive degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in substantia nigra, has no disease-modifying therapy. Mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy has shown great promise as a disease-modifying solution for PD. Induced pluripotent stem cell-derived MSC (iMSC) not only has stronger neural repair function, but also helps solve the problem of MSC heterogeneity.

Background: Long-term use of levodopa, a metabolic precursor of dopamine (DA) for alleviation of motor symptoms in Parkinson's disease (PD), can cause a serious side effect known as levodopa-induced dyskinesia (LID). With the development of LID, high-frequency gamma oscillations (~100 Hz) are registered in the motor cortex (MCx) in patients with PD and rats with experimental PD. Studying alterations in the activity within major components of motor networks during transition from levodopa-off state to dyskinesia can provide useful information about their contribution to the development of abnormal gamma oscillations and LID.

Background: Cardiovascular disease carries the highest mortality rate among diseases, and pharmacological interventions have limited efficacy. Baicalin (Bai) promotes biological metabolic processes, eliminates oxygen free radicals, and is anti-inflammatory. This study aimed to investigate the effect of Bai on the cardiac injury model induced by isoproterenol in mice.

Objective: Although Mammotome-assisted minimally invasive resection (MAMIR) has been widely accepted for treating breast benign nodules, the procedure remains very technical and challenging. The present study aimed to assess the efficacy of norepinephrine application in MAMIR concerning intraoperative hemorrhage, postoperative pain and postoperative hospitalization.
Methods: A total of 306 patients with breast nodules admitted at the Xishan people's Hospital of Wuxi City between June 2021 and July 2023 were included in this retrospective cohort study.
