The kinetics of liquid-holding recovery (LHR) in diploid yeast after gamma and alpha irradiation is studied. In case of stationary phase culture the rate and extent of LHR is found to be greater for gamma-ray-induced damage than for alpha-ray-induced damage. At 10% survival level, the half-time for recovery is 5.2 h for gamma-ray damage and 12 h for alpha-ray damage. Further, while the recovery factor for alpha damage reaches saturation at 5% survival level, that for gamma damage continues to increase as survival level decreases. Oxygen is required for the recovery process during LH after gamma irradiation. The cells can recover to the same extent from both oxygen-dependent and oxygen-independent components of damage. Log phase cells containing a high per cent of budding cells, however, exhibit negative liquid holding effect after gamma irradiation.

Donor-specific antibodies (DSAs) are essential causes of graft rejection in haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (haplo-HSCT). DSAs are unavoidable for some patients who have no alternative donor. Effective interventions to reduce DSAs are still needed, and the cost of the current therapies is relatively high.

Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) encompass a diverse set of malignancies with limited precision therapy options. Recently, therapies targeting DLL3 have shown clinical efficacy in aggressive NENs, including small cell lung cancers and neuroendocrine prostate cancers. Given the continued development and expansion of DLL3-targeted therapies, we sought to characterize the expression of DLL3 and identify its clinical and molecular correlates across diverse neuroendocrine and non-neuroendocrine cancers.

Introduction: Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer among women worldwide, and advancements in detection and treatment have improved survival rates. Evaluating breast cancer patients' quality of life is essential for effective healthcare planning. This study aims to assess the level of quality of life and its associated factors, including sociodemographic, clinical, coping skills, and psychological factors among breast cancer women in Iraq.

Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) as a marker of kidney function is important in health and disease management because decreased kidney function is associated with all-cause and cardiovascular mortality, progression of kidney disease, predisposition to acute kidney injury (AKI), and for drug dosage modification. While measured glomerular filtration rate (mGFR) is acknowledged as the most accurate method for evaluating kidney function, it is at present not feasible to be applied in the clinical arena. Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) is preferred due to its convenience, cost-effectiveness, and seamless integration into standard clinical practice for kidney function evaluation.

Background: Various prediction models have been developed for extremity metastasis and sarcoma. This systematic review aims to evaluate extremity metastasis and sarcoma models using the utility prediction model (UPM) evaluation framework.
Methods: We followed Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and systematically searched PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane to identify articles presenting original prediction models with 1-year survival outcome for extremity metastasis and 5-year survival outcome for sarcoma.
