Osteocytes are the bone cells that are thought to respond to mechanical strains and fluid flow shear stress (FFSS) by activating various biological pathways in a process known as mechanotransduction. Confocal image-derived models of osteocyte networks are a valuable tool for conducting Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to evaluate shear stresses on the osteocyte membrane, which cannot be determined by direct measurement. Computational modeling using these high-resolution images of the microstructural architecture of bone was used to numerically simulate the mechanical loading exerted on bone and understand the load-induced stimulation of osteocytes.

Collagen type VI (COL6) is an important component of the extracellular matrix (EM) and may have a major role in lung development and disease. Studies on COL6 expression during lung development are mainly based on animal models. The aim of the study was to define COL6 expression pattern in lung parenchyma in infants with different lung maturational stages.

Our study seeks to provide a theoretical foundation for the clinical use of cold-stored platelets (CSPs) by interpreting ultrastructural images and quantitatively analyzing structural changes. CSPs, room temperature-stored platelets (RTPs), and delayed CSPs (delayed-CSPs) were continuously observed using scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy at eight time points. Super-resolution fluorescence microscopy was employed to observe changes in platelet microtubules and mitochondrial structure and function, whereas platelet counts, metabolism, and relevant functional indicators were measured concurrently.

Aims: Pleomorphic adenoma (PA) with a prominent trabecular/canalicular morphology has consistent HMGA2 protein expression, and association with HMGA2 fusions. We report our experience with this subtype, with emphasis on the carcinomas that can arise in this context.
Methods And Results: A retro- and prospective review (2013-2024) of major salivary gland tumours with prominent trabecular/canalicular morphology was performed.
