The cortex of the middle suprasylvian sulcus was removed unilaterally in cats with brain stem transected at the pretrigeminal level. The vertical following reflex was evoked by a slit of light (1 degree x 4 degrees) moving along the vertical meridian or parallel to it up to 40 degrees in the left or right hemifield. The reflexes from the contralateral hemified were greatly reduced. This contrasts with previous reports with perimetry test where authors made smaller lesions.

: Amblyopia is a condition where children undergo unilateral or bilateral vision loss due to a variety of disorders that impact the visual pathway. The assessment of retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness in amblyopia has made optical coherence tomography (OCT) a useful technique for studying the pathophysiology of this condition. This study was conducted to assess OCT results for various forms of amblyopia, including macular thickness and peripapillary RNFL thickness.

Background: Complicated wrist amputation caused by severe trauma poses a real challenge for orthopedic and hand surgeons. This study aimed to evaluate a procedure of ulnoradial-metacarpal reconstruction as a rescue option in this challenging situation.
Methods: In total, 12 patients with complicated wrist amputation induced by serious injury were selected from 2015 to 2020 and followed up for 1∼6 years at a level 1 trauma center.

Introduction: Hemorrhagic transformation (HT) is a severe complication in patients with acute ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion (AIS-LVO) after endovascular treatment (EVT). We hypothesize that asymmetry of the internal cerebral veins (ICVs) on baseline CT angiogram (CTA) may serve as an adjunctive predictor of HT.
Methods: We conducted a study on consecutive AIS-LVO patients from November 2020 to April 2022.

Branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) is a leading cause of visual impairment in working-age individuals, though predicting its occurrence from retinal vascular features alone remains challenging. We developed a deep learning model to predict BRVO based on pre-onset, metadata-matched fundus hemisection images. This retrospective cohort study included patients diagnosed with unilateral BRVO from two Korean tertiary centers (2005-2023), using hemisection fundus images from 27 BRVO-affected eyes paired with 81 unaffected hemisections (27 counter and 54 contralateral) for training.

Background: Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is a common degenerative musculoskeletal condition that impairs mobility and balance, increasing fall risk. When combined with osteoporosis, it further increases the risk of fragility fractures. Despite its prevalence, the frequency of knee OA in patients who have fragility hip fractures (FHFs) is not well established.
