In recent years, the impact of transportation activities on carbon (CO) emissions has gained global attention. In China, the severity of CO emissions from transportation is a pressing issue, necessitating the development of effective emission reduction strategies. This study uses taxi GPS data from Xi'an, China, to explore the spatial patterns and influencing factors of CO2 emissions.

Here we consider the communications tactics appropriate for a group of agents that need to "swarm" together in a challenging communications environment. Swarms are increasingly important in a number of applications, including land, air, sea and space exploration, and their constituent agents could be satellites, drones, or other autonomous vehicles. A particularly difficult problem is to autonomously connect a swarm of agents together in a situation where stringent communication constraints are present, whether due to a need for stealth, restricted on-board power, external requirements to avoid certain broadcast directions, or equipment & hardware limitations.

Faced with the land use heterogeneity and trip distribution non-equilibrium along the corridor connecting urban district and rural area, the operation characteristics of the all-stop bus, the express bus and the shuttle bus running on the transportation corridor should be given full consideration, as well as the tradeoff between passenger trip cost and bus operation cost during the peak-hour period. In order to realize the reliable decision of bus resources configuration for urban-rural public transportation, a bi-objective programming model of multi-modal urban-rural bus operation scheme is established, where the decision variables include the departure frequency of different bus modals, the terminals of shuttle buses, and the stop scheme of express buses, under the constraints of departure interval, passenger volume, vehicle occupancy, section capacity usage and modal competition. To validate the feasibility of proposed optimization model, an urban-rural bus corridor from Rural Jasmine Ecological Park in Hanjiang District to West Xiangyang Bridge in Songqiao Town was chosen as a study case, and the operation organization scheme of three bus modals were solved by the mathematical solver Lingo using mixed integer programming.

Outdoor exposure to particulate matter (PM and PM) in urban areas can vary considerably depending on the mode of transport. This study aims to quantify this difference in exposure during daily travel, by carrying out a micro-sensor measurement campaign. The pollutant exposure was assessed simultaneously over predefined routes in order to allow comparison between different transport modes having the same starting and ending points.

The oceans are facing global and irreversible pollution from microplastics, and China is not immune. In this mini-review, information on microplastics in four coastal waters of China and the natural and social environment of key basins were compiled. The results showed that microplastics were ubiquitous in the coastal waters, and the abundance and spatial distribution of microplastics varied significantly under different sampling methods.
