Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is a common hematological disorder. Our previous study has found that exosomal miR-146a-5p derived from bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (BMSCs) regulate Th17/Treg balance to alleviate ITP. This work further investigated the role of miR-146a-5p in ITP with pregnancy.

Three are the main disorders associated with this condition: gestational thrombocytopenia (GT), immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), and inherited thrombocytopenias (ITs). Reaching the correct diagnosis of this condition has relevant therapeutic and outcome implications.

Background: Maternal thrombocytopenia during pregnancy is common. However, the relationship between maternal and neonatal thrombocytopenia is poorly understood.
Objectives: We aimed to determine whether an association exists between platelet counts of neonates born to mothers with moderate-to-severe thrombocytopenia (<100 × 10/L) and neonatal platelet counts.

Rationale: Catastrophic antiphospholipid syndrome (CAPS) is the most serious type of antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS) and can be easily confused with other disorders, such as hemolytic uremic syndrome, disseminated intravascular coagulation and thrombocytopenia syndromes. Timely diagnosis of CAPS poses considerable challenges due to its rarity and the fact that clinicians often lack knowledge of the disease.
Patient Concerns: A 21-year-old patient was 32 weeks and 5 days pregnant when she presented to the hospital with a 7-hour history of sudden onset of left-sided limb weakness with no apparent cause.

Dengue fever, a mosquito-borne viral disease, was the most prevalent arthropod-borne illness globally and posed a significant public health challenge due to its increasing incidence and potential complications. While most patients recovered within one to two weeks, some cases progressed to severe dengue, requiring hospitalization. This case report described a 39-year-old pregnant woman at 27 weeks gestation who developed severe dengue fever complicated by bacterial pneumonia, leading to ICU admission.
