Fifty-nine people, 31 healthy subjects with no previous knee injuries and 28 who had undergone an intra-articular anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction 6-12 months prior to testing took part in the study. The subjects were randomly tested bilaterally on a Cybex 6000 isokinetic testing device (ITD) and on an ordinary leg extension bench (LEB). Strength and endurance were tested with both methods. The linear relationships for paired strength and endurance differences between ITD and LEB were found to be acceptable for the operated group. The LEB alone explained 57% and 38% of the ITD outcome for strength and endurance, respectively. The agreement between observed and predicted ITD values based on the LEB measurements was found satisfactory with a positive standardized agreement index. This indicates that the LEB can be used as a helpful tool in evaluation of quadriceps muscle strength deficits.

Our study describes lower body muscular strength and endurance among ASCC using the 1-minute sit-to-stand (1-min STS) test, compares them with the general population, identifies risk factors, and describes changes over time.Methods: In a prospective multicenter cohort study, we invited ASCC ≥18 years of age at study, diagnosed between ages 0-20 treated in five pediatric oncology centers across Switzerland from 1976-2017 who survived ≥5 years for a 1-min STS test.

Methods: In a Latin Square design, 20 endurance athletes (10 females using monophasic oral contraceptives and 10 males) undertook five trials, each comprising three consecutive days. Background: Prior research indicates that engaging in physical activity during chemotherapy can positively influence both physical and psychological parameters in individuals with hematological neoplasms. However, the most effective type, level, intensity, and frequency of exercise remains unclear.
Patients And Methods: We enrolled 53 patients to a clinical trial assessing a partly supervised hybrid training program including both strength and endurance components, commencing at onset of induction therapy (T0) for hematological malignancies, including AML (n = 29), ALL (n = 5), and NHL (n = 19).
