Electron Beam CT (EBCT) was initially devoted to both dynamic and morphological cardiac studies. ECG gated slices acquired in 100 milliseconds produce cardiac images without motion artefacts. Intracavitary tumors and thrombus are clearly detected and EBCT contributes to the stagging and follow-up of masses. Exploration of congenital abnormalities such as pulmonary atresia can be performed even in newborns. EBCT allows the diagnosis of tiny modifications of coronary arteries, endocardium or pericardium. EBCT offers a new modality of cardiac imaging which gives complementary informations to other modalities.

Background And Purpose: To evaluate the spectral scanner (Aquilion One PRISM Edition, Canon Medical Systems Corporation, Otawara, Japan) diagnostic performance to identify bone marrow edema (BME) in vertebrae of patients managed for suspected vertebral compression fracture in the emergency department of Dijon University Hospital.

Methods: 14 consecutive patients underwent spectral imaging and MRI spinal imaging, from January 2023 to March 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. 85 vertebrae were assessed for the detection of fracture on conventional CT images and the presence of bone marrow edema (BME) in all vertebral bodies on VNCa mapping for both Bone and Research preset, who was judged to indicate a fresh fracture.

In the completely autotrophic nitrogen removal over nitrite (CANON) process, the conflicting oxygen requirements of anammox and ammonium-oxidizing bacteria often lead to retardation in anammox activity. However, our study achieved stable nitrogen removal with a maximum capacity of 1096 g-N/m/d in a 20 m CANON reactor under long-term intensive aeration. The anammox bacteria unusually distributed in the outer layer of the biofilm and demonstrated remarkable oxygen tolerance.

Radiation therapy plays a crucial role in cancer treatment, necessitating precise delivery of radiation to tumors while sparing healthy tissues over multiple days. Computed tomography (CT) is integral for treatment planning, offering electron density data crucial for accurate dose calculations. However, accurately representing patient anatomy is challenging, especially in adaptive radiotherapy, where CT is not acquired daily.

Electronic address:

As the new fashioned nitrogen removal process, short-cut nitrification and denitrification (SHARON) process, anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) process, completely autotrophic nitrogen removal over nitrite (CANON) process, partial nitrification and anammox (PN/A) process and partial denitrification and anammox (PD/A) process entered into the public eye due to its advantages of high nitrogen removal efficiency (NRE) and low energy consumption. However, the above process also be limited by long-term start-up time, unstable operation, complicated process regulation and so on. As intermediates or by-metabolites of functional microorganisms in above processes, hydroxylamine (NHOH) and hydrazine (NH) improved NRE of the above processes by promoting functional enzyme activity, accelerating electron transport efficiency and regulating distribution of microbial communities.
