To investigate the relation between testicular transferrin and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) secreted by Sertoli cells and the differentiation of germ cells in the rat, testosterone and/or purified FSH was administered to rats medically hypophysectomized by an LH-RH agonist. Spermatogenesis was quantitatively analyzed and concentrations of intratesticular transferrin and IGF-1 were measured by radioimmunoassays. The last step of spermatogenesis was quantitatively restored by combined administration of testosterone and purified FSH. Intratesticular IGF-1 concentrations were significantly increased by combined administration of testosterone and purified FSH. From these observations, it is surmised that IGF-1 may have a stimulatory effect on the last step of spermatogenesis.

Objective: To compare recombinant FSH (rFSH) with highly purified-human menopausal gonadotrophin (hp-hMG) on ovarian response in women undergoing elective fertility preservation (FP).

Methods: This retrospective study included 456 women who underwent elective FP with gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist or progestin-primed ovarian stimulation (PPOS) protocols between 01/2017-12/2021. Only the first treatment cycle of each woman was included.

Scope: Cordyceps cicadae polysaccharides have received attention due to their potential in treating hyperglycemia and enhancing renal function. The beneficial effect of the purified C. cicadae polysaccharides fraction (CCP-1) on the reproductive impairments and spermatogenesis dysfunction of immunocompromised mice is unavailable and is studied herein.

To study the effect of switching to a follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) preparation other than that to which infertile male patients have not had an effective response. Seventy-four normogonadotropinemic, non-obstructive, oligozoospermic patients who were poor responders to the administration of highly purified FSH (hpFSH) (Group 1 (n = 22) and Group 3 (n = 15)) or to recombinant human FSH (rhFSH) (Group 2 (n = 22) and Group 4 (n = 15)) were selected for this prospective study. After 3 months of washout from treatment with the first FSH preparation of choice, rhFSH was administered to patients in Groups 1 and 4 and hpFSH to those in Groups 2 and 3.

To understand the physiological mechanisms by which pituitary-derived gonadotropins (Gths), follicle-stimulating hormone (Fsh) and luteinizing hormone (Lh) regulate asynchronous oocyte development, we investigated the function and expression of Fsh and Lh receptors (Fshr and Lhr, respectively) in Pacific bluefin tuna (PBT, Thunnus orientalis). As a first, we cloned the full-length cDNAs encoding PBT Fshr and Lhr. Recombinant PBT Fsh and Lh single-chain proteins were produced in abundance using stable CHO-DG44 cell lines and were subsequently purified from the culture medium, culminating in their yields being 87.

Highly purified human menopausal gonadotropin (HP-hMG [Menopur, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Saint-Prex, Switzerland]) contains a 1:1 ratio of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). This analysis aimed to assess gonadotropin (FSH, LH and hCG) abundance in HP-hMG and clarify the source of hCG by assessing the presence of sulfated glycans, which are diagnostic for pituitary hCG forms due to their distinct glycosylation patterns. Additionally, the purity of each sample, their specific components, and their oxidation levels were assessed.
