Apatinib, a commonly used tyrosine kinase inhibitor in cancer treatment, can cause adverse reactions such as hypertension. Hypertension, in turn, can increase the risk of certain cancers. The coexistence of these diseases makes the use of combination drugs more common in clinical practice, but the potential interactions and regulatory mechanisms in these drug combinations are poorly understood.

Molecular docking to investigate HLA-associated idiosyncratic drug reactions.

Drug Metab Rev

January 2025

Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden.

Idiosyncratic drug reactions (IDRs) pose severe threats to patient health. Unlike conventionally dose-dependent side effects, they are unpredictable and frequently manifest as life-threatening conditions, such as severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCARs) and drug-induced liver injury (DILI). Some HLA alleles, such as , , and , are known risk factors for adverse reactions induced by multiple drugs.

Introduction: The objective of this study was to improve the economic value of the processed by-products of farmed miiuy croaker () by evaluating the nutrient composition and osteogenic activity of its bones. We prepared bone peptides (MMBP) and analyzed their osteogenic potential.

Methods: We assessed the osteogenic activity of MMBP by molecular docking, MC3T3-E1 cell proliferation assay and zebrafish growth model, and evaluated its effect on osteoporosis (OP) using a retinoic acid-induced osteoporosis rat model.

There is compelling evidence that although the increased availability of sensitive imaging is the main cause of the increasing incidence of differentiated thyroid cancer, particularly the papillary type, there are other factors involved. Despite the acknowledged role of genetic and certain lifestyle factors, comprehensive studies delineating the interactions between multiple risk factors and the mechanistic pathways involved are scarce. A greater understanding of both modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors for thyroid cancer is critical to prevent and manage the disease and could provide a scientific basis for future research into more appropriate lifestyles and living environments for people at high risk.

Mitochondrial Dysfunction in Diabetic Periodontitis: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Potential.

J Inflamm Res

January 2025

Anhui Province Engineering Research Center for Dental Materials and Application, School of Stomatology, Wannan Medical College, Wuhu, 241002, People's Republic of China.

Diabetic periodontitis is a common oral complication of diabetes characterized by progressive destruction of periodontal tissues. Recent evidence suggests that mitochondrial dysfunction plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis and progression of this condition. This review aims to systematically summarize the role and potential mechanisms of mitochondrial dysfunction in diabetic periodontitis.
