Chitosan-based gelatinous affinity sorbent containing 9 mg/ml of polymyxin B was injected into the infected peritoneal cavity for twenty-four hours for detoxification in diffuse peritonitis. The clinical assay of blood plasma (Spectrum Abbot, USA) revealed that the lavage of the infected abdomen by polymyxin B-containing adsorbent resulted in systemic detoxification. The effect was associated with normalization of direct bilirubin, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels, a 4-fold decrease in uric acid levels, and a 34-fold increase in alkaline phosphatase activity, and a greater than 70-fold enhancement of hepatic aspartate aminotransferase activity.

In this research, a green approach utilizing deep eutectic solvent liquid-liquid microextraction is combined with smartphone digital image colorimetry for the determination of boron in nut samples. A smartphone camera was used to capture the image of the analyte extract located in a custom-made colorimetric box. The search for a Kitaev quantum spin liquid in crystalline magnetic materials has fueled intense interest in the two-dimensional honeycomb systems. Many promising candidate Kitaev systems are characterized by a long-range-ordered magnetic structure with an antiferromagnetic zigzag-type order, where the static moments form alternating ferromagnetic chains. Recent experiments on high-quality single crystals uncovered the existence of intriguing multi-k magnetic structures, which evolved from zigzag structures.
