Background: Black/African Americans in the Deep South have been subjected to social segregation, discrimination, and other forms of systematic injustices that continue to negatively impact this population's social determinants of health (SDoH). Healthy People 2030 has outlined a framework describing how adverse SDoH are associated with health inequities including higher rates of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD). Historically, it has been challenging to recruit citizens from this region to participate in brain aging-related research studies.

Background: Since diet is a known modulator of inflammation, the Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII), which quantifies the inflammatory potential of an individual's diet, becomes a significant parameter to consider. Chronic diarrhea is commonly linked to inflammatory processes within the gut. Thus, this study aimed to explore the potential link between DII and chronic diarrhea.

Cyclodextrins are widely used pharmaceutical excipients known to increase the solubility of drug compounds through formation of inclusion complexes. A prominent limitation of common cyclodextrins is their own scarce solubility in water, which renders them unsuitable for many drug formulations. Cyclodextrin solubility can be enhanced in appropriate media such as Deep Eutectic Solvents (DESs).

Background: A variety of clinically important benchmarks of success (CIBS) have been defined for total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA) to quantify success. However, it is unclear how the preoperative status of the patient influences their likelihood of achieving each CIBS.
Questions/purposes: (1) What proportion of patients achieve commonly used CIBS after TSA? (2) Is there a relationship between a patients' preoperative function and their probability of achieving different CIBS? (3) Does there exist preoperative ranges for each outcome measure that are associated with greater achievement of CIBS?
Methods: We retrospectively queried a multicenter shoulder arthroplasty database for primary anatomic TSA (aTSA) and reverse TSA (rTSA).

Objective: To better understand the clinical phenotype of Ménière's disease (MD), we examined family history, thyroid disorder, migraine, and associated disorders in complaints of people living with MD.
Method: We designed the study as a retrospective and examined data gathered from 912 participants with MD. Their data were originally collected by the Finnish Ménière Federation (FMF).
