The aim of this study was to compare 17 different Aujeszky's disease virus (ADV) isolates from clinical outbreaks of AD by using DNA biotinylated probes. All isolates were collected in Poland between 1984 and 1991. The restriction fragment pattern (RFP) analysis done by hybridization to NIA-3 DNA biotinylated probe indicated that all Polish ADV field strains can be classified as type I of Suid herpesvirus 1. Hybridization with BamHI fragment 7 and gI gene biotinylated probes revealed an unusual heterogeneity of BamHI fragment 7 in almost 50% of strains isolated in Poland. The nature of the molecular changes in this fragment will be discussed.

Background/objectives: The enzyme ubiquitin-specific protease 44 (USP44) is a deubiquitinating enzyme with identified physiological roles as a tumor suppressor and an oncogene. While some binding partners and substrates are known for USP44, the identification of other interactions may improve our understanding of its role in cancer. We therefore performed a proximity biotinylation study that identified products of several known cancer genes that are associated with USP44, including a novel interaction between BRCA2 and USP44.

Background & Aims: Abnormal regulation of lncRNA is strongly linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). However, the precise molecular mechanisms remain unclear. This study explores the roles of noncoding RNA activated by DNA damage (NORAD)/miR-511-3p/Rho-associated protein kinase 2 (Rock2) axis and the NORAD/ROCK2 interaction in the development of MASLD.

The Nuclear Factor I (NFI) family of transcription factors (TFs) plays key roles in cellular differentiation, proliferation, and homeostasis. As such, NFI family members engage in large number of interactions with other proteins and the chromatin. However, despite their well-established significance, the NFIs interactomes, their dynamics, and their functions have not been comprehensively examined.

The cryo-electron microscopy (cryoEM) method has enabled high-resolution structure determination of numerous biomolecules and complexes. Nevertheless, cryoEM sample preparation of challenging proteins and complexes, especially those with low abundance or with preferential orientation, remains a major hurdle. We developed an affinity-grid method employing monodispersed single particle streptavidin on a lipid monolayer to enhance particle absorption on the grid surface and alleviate sample exposure to the air-water interface.
