Ascites is a common sign of decompensated cirrhosis of the liver. In order to improve the patient's quality of life, it is essential to treat him systematically. The authors present an algorithm of therapeutic procedures. The basis is major rest, restricted water and sodium intake. First choice diuretics are aldosterone blockers. The basic diuretic is furosemide. The authors mention also the most important complications of treatment with diuretics. They evaluate contemporary views on paracentesis and therapy by return of ascites into the circulation. Ascites refractory to treatment is an indication for transplantation of the liver.

Purpose: Standard therapy for breast cancer after breast-conserving surgery is radiation therapy (RT) plus hormone therapy (HT). For patients with a low-risk of recurrence, there is an interest in deescalating therapy.
Methods And Materials: A retrospective study was carried out for patients treated at the Swedish Cancer Institute from 2000 to 2015, aged 70 years or older, with pT1N0 or pT1NX estrogen receptor-positive and ERBB2-negative unifocal breast cancer without positive surgical margins, high nuclear grade, or lymphovascular invasion.
Objective: To explore the lived experiences and extent of cognitive symptoms in Long COVID (LC) in a UK-based sample.
Design: This study implemented a mixed-methods design. Eight focus groups were conducted to collect qualitative data, and the Framework Analysis was used to reveal the experiences and impact of cognitive symptoms.

Retinal vein occlusion (RVO) has become the second most common retinal vascular disease after diabetic retinopathy. Existing therapeutic approaches, including intravitreal injection of antivascular endothelial growth factors (anti-VEGFs) and/or glucocorticoids and laser therapy, primarily address secondary macular edema and neovascularisation. However, these strategies do not address the underlying cause of the disease and may have harmful side effects.
