Collagen is a fibrous protein with a primary structure with complex periodical features. We show using symbolic Fourier transform of the collagen cDNA sequence that basic periodical patterns appear there also. Strikingly they are present in the third position of triplets encoding Gly, which occupies each third position in the sequence of the protein, and to which selection on the protein level does not applied. Thus, the gene of collagen seems to appear due to pra-gene multiplication.

Background: The neonatal mortality rate in Pakistan is the third highest in Asia, with 8.6 million preterm babies. These newborns require warmth, nutrition, and infection protection, typically provided by incubators.

Unlabelled: Transparent and accurate reporting in early phase dose-finding (EPDF) clinical trials is crucial for informing subsequent larger trials. The SPIRIT statement, designed for trial protocol content, does not adequately cover the distinctive features of EPDF trials. Recent findings indicate that the protocol contents in past EPDF trials frequently lacked completeness and clarity.

Background And Objective: Hemodynamic changes that lead to increased blood pressure represent the main drivers of organ damage in hypertension. Prolonged increases to blood pressure can lead to vascular remodeling, which also affects vascular hemodynamics during the pathogenesis of hypertension. Exercise is beneficial for relieving hypertension, however the mechanistic link between exercise training and how it influences hemodynamics in the context of hypertension is not well understood.

Laser communications (lasercom) can enable more efficient and higher bandwidth communications than conventional radio frequency (RF) systems, but requires more sophisticated pointing and tracking (PAT) systems to acquire and maintain links. Liquid lens arrays can provide compact, nonmechanical beam steering as an alternative to fast-steering mirrors and mechanical gimbals. An array of two liquid lenses offset in perpendicular axes along with a third on-axis lens in the array are used for beam steering and divergence control, respectively.

High-order harmonics have been widely used as reliable tabletop coherent radiation sources recently, but their applications have often been limited by the available pulse energy. Here, we report that by using an overdriven intense laser in a long waveguide with high-pressure gas, phase matching can be achieved in three distinct "regimes". In the third regime, favorable phase matching is achieved at near-axis positions to enhance harmonic yields.
