As the demand for high-power-density microelectronics rises, overheating becomes the bottleneck that limits device performance. In particular, the heterogeneous integration architecture can magnify the importance of heat dissipation and necessitate electrical insulation between critical junctions to prevent dielectric breakdown. Consequently, there is an urgent need for thermal interface materials (TIMs) with high thermal conductivity and electrical insulation to address this challenge.

Background: Diaper dermatoses broadly refer to skin disorders that occur in the diaper area. Dermoscopy is a non-invasive diagnostic tool that magnifies subsurface structures of the skin that are invisible to the unaided eye.

Combining piezocatalysts with mechanical ball milling for dissociating water to generate hydroxyl radicals (·OH) offers unprecedented opportunities for energy conversion and environmental remediation. However, the in-depth insights into the relationship between water and local polarization piezoelectric electric field (LPPEF) are currently lacking, in particularly, the ·OH formation mechanism in ball milling driven piezocatalyst system is not systematically elucidated. To this end, the present work constructs a ball milling driven piezoelectric solid/liquid interface between piezoelectric PbBOCl (PBOC) and different contents of water to investigate LPPEF initiated catalytic reaction.

Climate change is affecting population growth rates of ectothermic pests with potentially dire consequences for agriculture and global food security. However, current projection models of pest impact typically overlook the potential for rapid genetic adaptation, making current forecasts uncertain. Here, we predict how climate change adaptation in life-history traits of insect pests affects their growth rates and impact on agricultural yields by unifying thermodynamics with classic theory on resource acquisition and allocation trade-offs between foraging, reproduction, and maintenance.

Chitosan microgels (h-CSMs) were prepared by cross-linking hydrophobically modified chitosan with sodium phytate (SP). Emulsions stabilized by h-CSMs with different inter-phase fraction, microgel concentration and cross-linking density were studied of their microstructural and rheological properties. In particular, the large amplitude oscillatory shear (LAOS) of the high internal phase emulsions (HIPEs) stabilized by h-CSMs were systematically analyzed using the Fourier transform with Chebyshev polynomials (FTC) and sequence of physical processes (SPP) methods to explore their nonlinear rheological properties.
