Enzyme immunoassay performed in patients with malignant and benign affections of the lungs determined antibodies (Abs) to glycoprotein isolated from saprophyte microorganism Bacilus megaterium H. In pulmonary tuberculosis and nonspecific pulmonary inflammation the above Abs occurred in patients with fibrous-proliferative changes and associated neoplastic conditions. In lung cancer the Abs were detected in well and moderately differentiated tumors. Nondifferentiated and poorly differentiated variants did not exhibit any rise in Abs to glycoprotein.

Immunological interventions, like vaccinations, are enabled by the predictive control of humoral responses to novel antigens. While the development trajectories for many broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs) have been measured, it is less established how human subtype-specific antibodies develop from their precursors. In this work, we evaluated the retrospective development trajectories for eight anti-SARS-CoV-2 Spike human antibodies (Abs).

Two Gram-stain-negative cocci anaerobes were isolated from pig faeces and designated as strains YH-vei2232 and YH-vei2233. Phylogenetic analysis using 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that the isolates were most closely related to KCTC 5967, with 97.0% similarity.

Background: Worldwide, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the second most lethal cancer, although early-stage HCC is amenable to curative treatment and can facilitate long-term survival. Early detection has proved difficult, as proteomics, transcriptomics, and genomics have been unable to discover suitable biomarkers.
Methods: To find new biomarkers of HCC, we utilized a spatial omics N-glycan imaging method to identify altered glycosylation in cancer tissue (n = 53) and in paired serum of individuals with HCC (n = 23).

The family of IgG Abs is a crucial component of adaptive immunity. Glycosylation of IgG maintains its structural integrity and modulates its effector functions. In this review, we discuss IgG glycosylation covering cell biological as well as therapeutic and disease-related aspects, focusing on the glycan structures in distinct IgG regions (Fab versus Fc).
