The technique is described for devascularizing the post-cesarean section uterus with bilateral mass ligation of the ascending branches of the uterine arteries and veins. This 30-year clinical experience with 265 patients includes the results and complications. Ten patients required additional therapy. The effectiveness of this technique makes it a reasonable alternative to hypogastric artery ligation and reduces the need for hysterectomy.

Objectives: Transoral robotic surgery (TORS) and transoral laser microsurgery (TOLM) plus neck dissection are viable alternatives to radiotherapy as a treatment modality in select cases of oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma. Many centers advocate for elective ligation of the feeding arteries at index neck dissection prior to TORS/TOLM to mitigate the risk of catastrophic perioperative hemorrhage. Although there are multiple cadaveric studies in the literature to identify the lingual artery at multiple points throughout its course, there are no studies on the intraoperative identification of the lingual artery for elective ligation prior to TORS/TOLM.

Metabolic reprogramming, the shifting from fatty acid oxidation to glucose utilization, improves cardiac function as heart failure (HF) progresses. Leptin plays an essential role in regulating glucose metabolism. However, the crosstalk between leptin and metabolic reprogramming is poorly understood.

Background: A partial atrioventricular septal defect (AVSD) with a hypoplastic left ventricle and common atrium is a rare combination of cardiac anomalies that can be associated with Ellis-van Creveld (EVC) syndrome.
Case Summary: A female neonate with EVC syndrome was diagnosed with an unbalanced AVSD and hypoplastic left ventricle. Pulmonary artery banding and ductus ligation were performed at 23 days after birth.

Background: Many variations of the reverse flap design elevated on the medial plantar region have emerged since its introduction. Our aim was to review the literature to provide a broader understanding of the various iterations of the reversed blood-flow flap raised on the medial plantar region. Second, we wished to appraise the reverse medialis pedis flap by review of the literature and presentation of a case report.

Significance: Cerebral blood flow (CBF) imaging is crucial for diagnosing cerebrovascular diseases. However, existing large neuroimaging techniques with high cost, low sampling rate, and poor mobility make them unsuitable for continuous and longitudinal CBF monitoring at the bedside.
Aim: We aimed to develop a low-cost, portable, programmable scanning diffuse speckle contrast imaging (PS-DSCI) technology for fast, high-density, and depth-sensitive imaging of CBF in rodents.
