The authors have reviewed 246 fresh fractures of the shaft of the humerus treated by primary plating over a period of 22 years. It has been customary to treat the majority of fractures of the shaft of the humerus by conservative means, with use of open reduction and fixation by a plate for complicated fractures with associated injuries, or in cases of nonunion. Over the period of review the authors have gradually increasing their use of primary plating as opposed to the traditional methods. They fell that the reliability of union, together with the early mobilisation and return of the arm to normal function, favours the use of this method. Their opinion is based on a careful analysis of their results.

Background: Clavicle fractures associated with ipsilateral coracoid process fractures are very rare, with limited literature reporting only a few cases. This study reports on 27 patients with ipsilateral concomitant fractures of the clavicle and coracoid process who were followed for more than 12 months.
Material And Methods: This retrospective study reviewed the charts of skeletally mature patients with traumatic ipsilateral clavicle and coracoid process fractures treated at the authors' institution.
Purpose: Previous studies have shown that subtrochanteric femoral fractures treated with intramedullary nails might lead to varus-procurvatum malalignment. Similar results have been reported when using antegrade intramedullary lengthening nails (ILNs). The purpose of our study is to examine if antegrade telescoping intramedullary lengthening nails lead to varus-procurvatum malalignment of the proximal femur and what are possible predictors of that shift.

Background: Length unstable femoral shaft fractures in school-aged children usually demand surgical treatment, but the optimal choice remains controversial, especially in overweight adolescents. This study aimed to compare the clinical results of locking compression plates (LCP) and elastic stable intramedullary nails (ESIN) combined with temporary external fixator (TEF) in school-aged children weighing over 50 kg.
Methods: Between January 2010 and January 2018, children over 50 kg with length unstable femoral shaft fracture treated with ESIN & EF in the authors' institute were included in this study.

Case: A 34-year-old man, amateur weight lifter presented with acute worsening of right shoulder pain after 5 months of prodromal, progressive, atraumatic pain. Imaging showed a short oblique proximal third humeral shaft fracture without evidence of other osseous abnormalities. He was treated operatively with open reduction and internal fixation, healed uneventfully, and returned to weight lifting within 3 months.

Case: A 49-year-old gentleman sustained a closed, right tibia peri-implant fracture with a bent intramedullary nail. This resulted in a 17° valgus and 5° recurvatum deformity with fracture at the distal third of the tibial shaft. The patient underwent closed manipulation with an F-Tool and was reviewed by our unit over the following year.
