This study aimed to examine the differences in shoulder ultrasonographic parameters between overhead aquatic athletes and their relationship with shoulder pain. Sixty-four healthy junior subjects ( = 128 shoulders) participated in the study, including 17 healthy controls, 25 elite junior swimmers, and 22 elite junior water polo players. An ultrasonographic study of the shoulder was carried out to measure the thickness of the rotator cuff structures in sex- and age-paired groups.

: This study aims to determine the propulsive force and effective arm area contributed by the propulsion through the dynamic balance (power balance) between drag and propulsive power in swimming crawl performance. : Ten male swimmers participated in the study. The athletes conducted the crawl trials at a constant velocity using only the upper limbs.

Anguilliform locomotion, an efficient aquatic locomotion mode where the whole body is engaged in fluid-body interaction, contains sophisticated physics. We hypothesized that data-driven modeling techniques may extract models or patterns of the swimmers' dynamics without implicitly measuring the hydrodynamic variables. This work proposes empirical kinematic control and data-driven modeling of a soft swimming robot.

Tomopterids are mesmerizing holopelagic swimmers. They use two modes of locomotion simultaneously: drag-based metachronal paddling and bodily undulation.has two rows of flexible legs (parapodia) positioned on opposite sides of its body.

This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the effects of sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO₃) supplementation on 200 m time trial performance and physiological responses in swimmers, following PRISMA guidelines. A comprehensive search across five databases identified eligible randomized controlled trials comparing NaHCO₃ with placebo. Outcomes were 200 m time, blood bicarbonate, blood lactate, and blood pH.
