Fourteen non-flying wild greylag (Anser anser anser) goslings were reported dead on the Bothnian Bay coast of Finland in July and August, 1992. Renal coccidiosis caused by Eimeria truncata was isolated from all three of the goslings necropsied.

Multi-omics has helped elucidate the gene expression patterns and genomic variations closely associated with economically significant traits in geese. Despite the substantial genomic data generated through extensive goose studies, a unified platform for integrating these datasets is lacking. To address this gap, we introduced the Goose Multi-omics Database (GMD), which is accessible at http://goosedb.

The primary product currently sold from is foie gras, with limited research conducted on the processing of meat, which consequently restricts its added value. Therefore, the objective of this research is to develop a processing technique for reconstituted goose cutlets using meat as the main ingredient, aiming for a compact structure and intact shape after frying. The study examined the effects of compound enzyme quantity, tumbling duration, and molding time on the quality of the reconstituted goose cutlets, utilizing bonding strength, cooking loss rate, color, chewability, adhesiveness, and sensory evaluation as key metrics.

A Roman goose (Anser anser domesticus) was presented with a large mass on the left lateral side of the neck with a smaller satellite mass on the right. Utilizing radiography, blood tests, and histological and immunohistochemical investigations, a diagnosis of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma associated with hypercalcemia of malignancy was established. The involvement of oncogenic viruses was ruled out through PCR and RT-PCRs.

Gosling gout disease is an infectious disease caused by goose astrovirus (GAstV), which can result in urate deposition in the internal organs and joints of goslings. Since 2015, outbreaks of gosling gout disease have occurred in several goose-producing areas in China. Subsequently, the disease spread to the vast majority of eastern China, becoming a major threat to goose farms and causing huge economic losses to the goose industry.

Goose parvovirus (GPV) is an etiological agent of Derzsy's disease, afflicting geese and Muscovy ducks worldwide. Its high mortality rate among goslings and ducklings causes large losses to the waterfowl industry. Toward molecular and structural characterization, virus-like particles (VLPs) of GPV were produced, and the capsid structure was determined by cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) at a resolution of 2.
