Objective: To develop and validate a paediatric weight estimation model adapted to the characteristics of the Spanish population as an alternative to currently extended methods.
Methods: Anthropometric data in a cohort of 11 287 children were used to develop machine learning models to predict weight using height and the body mass index (BMI) quartile (as surrogate for body habitus (BH)). The models were later validated in an independent cohort of 780 children admitted to paediatric emergencies in two other hospitals.

Objective: Bone grafts derived from natural hydroxyapatite (HA) are increasingly being explored because they are more economical in terms of production costs compared with commercial HA. HA can be obtained from local cattle slaughter waste in Aceh, Indonesia, which has not been widely studied for its potential for dental applications. This study examines the synthesis and characterization of bovine HA (BHA) derived from Aceh cattle femur through calcination for applications in dentistry.

Background: Shorter stature has been phenotypically linked to increased prevalence of schizophrenia (SCZ), but the nature of this association is unknown.
Methods: Using genome-wide genetic data, we studied the SCZ-height relationship on a genetic level. Applying novel genetic methods and tools, we analyzed gene-sets, tissue-types, cell-types, local genetic correlation, conditional genetic analyses, and fine-mapping of effector-genes to scrutinize the SCZ-height relationship.

Nuclear compartments are membrane-less regions enriched in functionally related molecules. RNA is a major component of many nuclear compartments, but the identity and dynamics of transcripts within nuclear compartments are poorly understood. Here, we applied reverse transcribe and tagment (RT&Tag) to human cell lines to identify the transcript populations of Polycomb domains and nuclear speckles.

Red-emitting materials have significantly advanced the development of materials for OLEDs and bioimaging. However, traditional red dyes often suffer from the 5 % external quantum efficiency (EQE) limit and aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ), which impede their practical applications. Herein, two red-emitting materials, TPA-QP and Cz-Ph-QP were designed and synthesized with donor-acceptor (D-A) structures.
